piece/peace is a dance work that embodies joy and resilience as acts of resistance against the weight of hopelessness that blankets my feelings about the current divisive state of our country. Too often, our bodies are asked to tell stories of pain and hardship, but how often do we make space to celebrate joy as a means of survival? This work serves as an offering that challenges that norm, daring to center communal and collective joy as a revolutionary act.
