This piece was created through a four-part movement practice that uses meditation, writing, movement (improvisation) and sharing to explore the Black Radical Imagination through our bodies. Inspired by Robin D.G. Kelley's "Freedom Dreams," this process aims to create space for collective visioning during politically divisive times, using Afro-futuristic and experimental Black music as our sonic foundation.

Each dancer wore a color that represented their cyclical “roles” within the collective —

CATALYST (Blue) / DISRUPTION (Red) //

ENLIGHTENMENT (White) / FUTURITY (Black) //

Rather than offering easy answers, I wanted the piece to dwell in the fertile space of questioning - asking audiences to consider how we might move from imagination to implementation, from dreaming to doing, from solo flight to collective liberation.
