Who Am I?

Eboné Camille Amos is an Assistant Professor of African American Studies in the Theatre and Dance Department at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN where She teaches African American history and culture through the lens of African American visual and performance art. She received a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Dance Education from the University of Memphis and a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Dance: Performance and Choreography at the Florida State University. As an MFA student, Eboné had the honor of performing her own choreography We Carry it Everyday in the COCO Festival in Port of Spain, Trinidad. She also premiered her thesis work Let The Church Say in Thomasville, GA. In addition to works in the University, she premiered her first contemporary ballet, loose, with the Tallahassee Ballet in the Evening of Music and Dance in Tallahassee, FL. As a performer, she has danced with Debbie Allen, Jawole Willa Jo Zollar, Millicent Johnnie and Josephine Girabaldi. 
In Clarksville, TN, Eboné has continued her performance, teaching and blossoming fashion career. She has starred in Freedom Train as Harriet Tubman and Ain't Misbehavin as Charlaine at the Roxy Regional Theatre. She also choreographed The Color Purple which went on to be nominated for Best Choreography via Broadway World Nashville. She currently teaches dance at the Community School of the Arts through the Center for Excellence in the Creative Arts in affiliation with APSU. She recently founded ThrEAdz, a fashion consulting firm that specializes in styling, costume consulting and artist branding. In August of 2022, she had the opportunity to choreograph her newest [work, mine, yours, theirs, ours] as an artist in residency with the Jacksonville Dance Theatre. In October, she was invited as a guest artist to reset her work Welcome to Soulsville at Valdosta State University.
